Down to Earth Cruise lines

With just the right
amount of fancy

  • CELEBRITY CRUISES
Elevated cruising on absolutely beautiful ships. Celebrity offers some unique opportunities like glass blowing and top deck lawns with real grass. Interesting dining venues include Le Petit Chef, an animated event, and Eden on the Edge Class ships which offers fusion fare with unexpected immersive experiences. Their adult-only solariums are also notable!
  • CUNARD
The most elegant cruising experience at sea. Designed for a refined travel palette, this experience includes white star service, fine dining, and pure elegance on a true ocean liner. Afternoon tea is offered daily and served in the traditional British style. Cunard is definitely a more formal experience than what is offered by other cruise lines. Their transatlantic experience is not to be missed!
  • HOLLAND AMERICA LINE
Holland is often misconceived as a cruise for older guests. You will actually find a broad demographic on Holland ships, depending on time of year. Holland was the first cruise line to embark on the Alaska market and along with Princess, is the top line to consider for Alaska cruises and cruise tours (land & sea). They have a great music scene and their ships are stunning!
  • NORWEGIAN CRUISE LINE
NCL has some unique itineraries and is known for their variety of activities and food options, especially on their newer ships. If you want adventure on board (think laser tag, race track, and water slides) these ships may be perfect for you and your family. NCL is also known for great options for solo cruisers! They have some interesting itineraries as well and offer some great deals with their Free at Sea program.
  • OCEANIA CRUISES
Oceania is a great cruise option for someone used to smaller ships or river cruising looking to try a larger ship experience. Their ships carry between 650-1200 guests, which provides the perfect opportunity to dip your toe into ocean cruising on a smaller ship with the great amenities you will find with ocean cruising. They are known as a destination and culinary focused luxury cruise line.
  • PRINCESS CRUISES
Princess is well known for their Alaska cruises and cruise tours (land & sea). They offer elegant ships, great food and service, and a more traditional cruising experience. Their Medallion experience has changed the cruising experience through great technology. They have some of the more unique itineraries in the industry and sail all over the world. Their ships are rather similar in layout and presentation, however, launching in 2024 is the new Sun Princess. Offering innovative design and new bright elements, this ship will be a game changer for Princess.
  • REGENT SEVEN SEAS
The most luxurious cruising experience, Regent offers fantastic itineraries on ships that hold between 250-750 passengers. A Regent cruise is truly all inclusive with drinks, WiFi, gourmet dining, shore excursions, cultural immersion experiences and entertainment, as well as pre/post hotel stays all included in your cruise fare. A great way to not have to think about the extras that can come with cruising.
  • ROYAL CARIBBEAN INTERNATIONAL
Offering the largest fleet at sea with the most to do on a ship! Especially on Oasis Class. Royal is perfect for families and does a great job with their youth programs as well as their focus on autism friendly cruising, which I love. Great entertainment (the aqua shows are like no other), great variety in food, and the adult only solariums are fantastic (my happy place). Royal is great because they sail out of a large number of embarkation ports, making them accessible to cruisers all over. the world.
  • VIKING CRUSISES
Viking is primarily known for river cruising and has recently branched into the ocean market. It's my top pick for river cruising and offers a great experience taking guests to amazing ports that you wouldn't be able to access on an ocean voyage. Rated the top river cruise line, and rightly so with their level of service, amenities, and tremendous food. Great for a more secluded, intimate voyage.
  • VIRGIN VOYAGES
Typically when you hear about Virgin, the focus is on that it is adults only. While this is great, the primary draw for me to Virgin is the FOOD! It's the best at sea in my opinion. No buffet, tons of options with a lot of variety and the dining experience is definitely elevated. The pools are smaller and the entertainment is not what you would find on a more traditional cruise line, but Virgin definitely hits it home for a unique cruise experience. And, there are hammocks on the balconies!
